SUMMARY

The mouse or the keyboard can be used to select a discontinuous range of cells in Excel.

To use the mouse, hold down the COMMAND key on the keyboard while selecting each portion of the discontinuous range. For example, to select the ranges A1:A10 and C1:C10, do the following:

  1. Highlight A1:A10 by using the mouse.

  2. Hold down the COMMAND Key.

  3. Highlight C1:C10 by using the mouse.

Continue holding down the COMMAND key if there are any other ranges that need to be selected at the same time.

To use the keyboard, do the following:

  1. Select Goto from the Formula or press COMMAND+G.

  2. Type in the range with a comma separating the discontinuous areas.

  3. Click OK.

For example, typing A1:A10,C1:C10 in the Formula Goto box selects the ranges of A1:A10 and C1:C10.
