Excel: Setup Hangs if Pyro! Blanks Screen

Last reviewed: November 1, 1994
Article ID: Q70272

SUMMARY

In Microsoft Excel version 3.00, if Pyro! version 4.0 or 4.0.1 goes into "sleep" mode or blanks the screen while Excel Setup is installing files from the Utilities 1 or Utilities 2 disk, Pyro! will request the Setup disk, and the machine will hang.

To avoid this problem, either turn off Pyro! during the installation of Excel, or move the mouse every few seconds during the installation, avoiding Pyro!'s "sleep corner."

Fifth Generation Systems, Inc., has confirmed the problem. Inquiries about potential new releases of Pyro! or possible corrections for this problem should be addressed to Fifth Generation Systems at (504) 291-7221, or AppleLink FIFTHGENSYS
