Excel: SYLK, WKS and WK1 File Format Options Grayed

SUMMARY

In Microsoft Excel, the SYLK, WKS, and WK1 file format options in the File Save As dialog box will be grayed (unavailable) if the document has been protected with a password.

To save the document in one of these formats, you must first unprotect the document, as follows:

  1. From the Options menu, choose Unprotect Document.

  2. Enter the password.
