Excel: Using the NOW Function with Computed Criteria

SUMMARY

To use the Microsoft Excel NOW function in criteria, computed criteria must be used.

For example, to find all records that have a date of at least 30 days ago (indicating that they are at least 30 days old), you would enter the following criteria

   Computed Date
   =cell_ref<(NOW()-30)

where "cell_ref" is the relative reference to the first cell in the "date" field in the database.

NOTE: "Computed Date" is used instead of "Date" because with computed criteria, the actual field name cannot be used; otherwise, Excel looks for a match of the formula as a text string.
