Internet Mail and News Cannot Be Uninstalled Separately

SUMMARY

You cannot uninstall Internet Mail or Internet News separately using the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel.

When both components are installed, the only entry in the list of installed programs is "Internet Mail and News 1.0"

To uninstall either component, both components must be removed and then installed separately. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.

  3. Click the Install/Uninstall tab.

  4. In the list of installed programs, click Internet Mail And News 1.0, and then click Add/Remove. This removes both components.

  5. Reinstall Internet Mail and News. During Setup, select only the component you want to install.
