Excel: Worksheet Does Not Retain Manual Calculation

SUMMARY

If a Microsoft Excel worksheet is saved with manual calculation set, it may open in automatic calculation mode in the next Excel session.

When Excel is initially launched, the Calculation option is set according to the first worksheet that is opened. If Excel is launched by double-clicking on the application icon so that "Worksheet1" appears in the window, the calculation will be set to Automatic, as Automatic is the default. Any other document opened within this session will reflect the same setting.

To retain the Calculation setting of a particular worksheet, launch Excel by double-clicking on the icon for that worksheet.
