How to Select, Move, and Size an Arrow with the Keyboard

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Excel for Windows, versions 2.x, 3.0, 4.0, 4.0a
  • Microsoft Excel for OS/2, versions 2.2, 2.21, 3.0

To use the keyboard to move or size a chart arrow, do the following:

  • Use the direction keys to select the arrow. Press the UP or DOWN ARROW key to change the selection among classes of objects. Press the RIGHT or LEFT ARROW key to move the selection among objects in each class.

    To resize or rotate the arrow -----------------------------

    Choose Size from the Format menu. The arrow can now be sized and rotated using the arrow keys. The tail of the arrow remains stationary while the tip of the arrow moves.

    To move the arrow -----------------

    Choose Move from the Format menu. The arrow can now be moved with the arrow keys. Its orientation and size will not change.

NOTE: Although you can use the arrow keys to select objects in chart, you cannot use the arrow keys to move or size objects.
