SUMMARY

To bring up an Excel worksheet in Q+E, first define the data in the Excel sheet as a database and save the file in dBASE-compatible format from Excel.

MORE INFORMATION

If an Excel database file shows up incorrectly in Q+E, check the file in Excel to make sure that the database area is defined correctly:

  1. Close the database file in Q+E.

  2. Open the database file in Excel.

  3. From the Formula menu, choose Goto and select Database.

  4. Determine if the following is true:

    a. The database contains no blank rows or columns except at the end. b. The database refers to a contiguous block of cells. c. Field headings are text only. You cannot use numbers, logical

values, error values, blank cells, or formulas as field names.

  5. If the database has been checked and redefined, choose Save As from the File menu and select Options. Select either DBF 2 or DBF 3.

  6. Load the file into Q+E again.
