MXL5: Error Opening Files with System 7.5 and MacLinkPlus ID: Q121527

On a Macintosh with System 7.5 and MacLinkPlus installed, you receive the following error message when you open a Microsoft Excel version 5.0 file by double-clicking the file in Finder:

   File was not created with the Application Microsoft Excel

In Microsoft Power Point, when you edit an embedded Microsoft Excel 5.0 chart on your slide, the data in the chart may be lost.

MXL5: Links Incorrect When Source Document(s) Closed ID: Q122464

In Microsoft Excel version 5.0 for the Macintosh, linked cells on your worksheet may display incorrect data. The value displayed may be zero, a very large number, or a very small number instead of the actual data.

XL5: DSUM/DAVERAGE Functions Fail with Computed Criteria ID: Q122666

In Microsoft Excel version 5.0 for the Macintosh and Microsoft Excel version 5.0 for Windows NT, the DSUM() and DAVERAGE() functions may return incorrect results if you are using computed criteria for your database.

MXL5: PivotTable Uses Incorrect Range If Selected with Mouse ID: Q125641

When you create a PivotTable in Microsoft Excel, if you use the mouse to select a range in a workbook other than the active workbook (the workbook that was active when you inserted the PivotTable), one of the following symptoms may occur when you choose either Next or Finish in the PivotTable Wizard-Step 2 of 4 dialog box:

MXL5: Type 1 Error/Hang Saving File with 32-Bit Addressing On ID: Q125726

In Microsoft Excel 5.0, when you save a file in the Microsoft Excel Workbook file format on a Macintosh that has 32-bit addressing turned on, your computer may stop responding or Microsoft Excel may close unexpectedly.

File Locking Is Not Supported Cross-Platform ID: Q126001

In the applications listed above, if you open a file located on a network server on both a personal computer running Microsoft Windows and a Macintosh computer simultaneously (that is, you open the file on a personal computer and then open the same file on a Macintosh computer), you do not receive a prompt to open the file as read only as in earlier versions of the applications.

Cannot Set Paper Orientation in Page Setup for StyleWriter II ID: Q126795

In Microsoft Excel, if you are using an Apple StyleWriter printer with version 1.2 of the StyleWriter II printer driver, you cannot set the Orientation option with a Visual Basic macro or with a Microsoft Excel 4.0 macro.

When you double-click a Microsoft Excel file in the Finder to open the file in Microsoft Excel, you may receive one of the following error messages:

MXL5: "Number must be between 1 and 32767" in Print Preview ID: Q127788

In Microsoft Excel, if you are using an Apple Personal LaserWriter SC printer driver, or an Apple LaserWriter II SC printer driver, you receive the following error message when you view your document in print preview:

   Number must be between 1 and 32767

XL5: Cut/Paste Formula with Reference Returns #REF! Error ID: Q127791

In Microsoft Excel, if you cut a formula that contains a reference to a cell on the worksheet that contains the formula, and you paste the formula to another worksheet, the reference in the formula appears as #REF!.

MXL5: Formula Subtracting Equal Values Doesn't Return Zero ID: Q127938

In Microsoft Excel, when you enter a formula that subtracts the result of one cell from another cell with the same result, the value returned by the formula may not be 0 (zero).

MXL5: TAN() Function Returns Incorrect Result ID: Q127939

In Microsoft Excel, when you use the TAN() function to return the tangent of a given angle, the value returned may be incorrect.

MXL5: Cell Reference Following Defined Name Isn't Updated ID: Q128153

In Microsoft Excel, when you enter a formula that contains a defined name followed by a cell reference, the reference is not updated when you move that referenced cell on the worksheet.

In Microsoft Excel, when you open a file located on a Novell server, you may receive the following error message:
