Canon CaPSL Printer Support in Windows NT

The information in this article applies to:

Microsoft Windows NT operating system version 3.1
Microsoft Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1

Windows NT does not supply a driver for printers that use Canon's CaPSL page description language. As a result, certain printers that were supported under earlier versions of Windows are not supported under Windows NT.

PostScript options are available for many of the CaPSL printers, and Windows NT supplies PostScript PPD files to support these printers with their PostScript options installed. These printers include the following models:

   Canon LBP-4 PS-2 v51.4
   Canon LBP-8III PS-1 v51.4
   Canon LBP-8IIIR PS-1 v51.4
   Canon LBP-8IIIT PS-1 v51.4

Microsoft is aware of customer interest in CaPSL support, and the development of a CaPSL driver is under review.
