This problem may occur with a variety of PC Card modems, including the ones listed below: Compaq 144 Data Fax Modem Series 570 Compaq 288 Data Fax Modem Series 571 P.N.B. PCMCIA Rio V34 CAUSE ===== This problem is related to a timing issue in the PC Card modem detection code of Windows NT 4.0, and may vary from controller to controller and from modem to modem. STATUS ====== Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 4.0. This problem has been corrected in the latest U.S. Service Pack for Windows NT version 4.0.
