Err Msg: Processor in Slot 1 Failed

If you add an additional processor to the Compaq Proliant 2000, Windows NT may report "processor in slot 1 failed" during startup.

To resolve this problem, perform the following steps:

  1. Be sure to use processor board #148677-001 Rev level F or higher.

  2. Upgrade the firmware ROM on the Proliant 2000 motherboard to 010594 or higher. You can download the firmware update file (in compressed PKZip format) from the COMPAQ forum on CompuServe.
