Err Msg: Tape Drive Error Detected with 4MM DAT Tape Device

SYMPTOMS

When you run Windows NT Backup (NTBACKUP.EXE) with an Archive Python 4MM DAT tape device, the following error message appears:

   Tape Drive Error Detected
   A tape device has been detected, and the tape driver started. However,
   the tape device is not responding. Check that tape device power is on
   and cables are properly connected.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the CMOS setting for SCSI Disconnect is disabled.

RESOLUTION

To correct this problem, modify the computer's CMOS settings to enable SCSI Disconnect.
