Fastback: Mouse Click on Pause Button Doesn't Work

Last reviewed: May 8, 1997
Article ID: Q102409

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Windows NT operating system version 3.1
  • Microsoft Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1

SYMPTOMS

When you run Fifth Generation Systems Fastback or Fastback Plus with Windows NT, nothing happens when you click the Pause button.

CAUSE

While the virtual DOS machine (VDM) is busy writing to or reading tracks from a floppy disk, mouse interrupts are blocked. This problem occurs because 16-bit interrupt handlers are run in the same thread as the floppy emulation code. Since mouse events are not queued, the button clicks and the position movement are not received during the floppy read/write.
