Numeric Keypad Not Available in Excel Tutorial

SYMPTOMS

When using the Excel Tutorial, the numeric keypad does not allow numbers to be entered. Each time the NUM LOCK key is pressed, an error message such as "Choose a number from 1 to 6, or press Q to return to Microsoft Excel" results.

CAUSE

The numeric keypad is not available for use with the Excel tutorial.

WORKAROUND

To use the tutorial and enter numbers, you must enter numbers from the basic key set above the alphabetic keys.
