The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Windows NT operating system version 3.1
  • Microsoft Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1

SYMPTOMS

When you run Windows NT on the IBM ThinkPad 720c when it is connected to the IBM 3550 expansion station, the display on the external VGA monitor of the 3550 may be shifted down and cropped on the top, left, and right of the screen. Adjusting the vertical and horizontal position of the display on the monitor does not correct the problem.

RESOLUTION

To correct this display problem, do the following:

  1. Run the IBM Reference Utility disk provided with the computer.

  2. Select Display and Audio Features from the main menu.

  3. Choose the Display option.

  4. Set the display option to CRT or CRT AND LCD, but not on CRT HIGH PERFORMANCE, which is the default.
