NCC Err Msg: Unexpected Network Error Has Occurred

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to connect to a drive from File Manager, the following error message may appear:

   ERROR: Unexpected network error has occurred.

CAUSE

This error message appears when File Manager attempts to find a NetWare resource through the NCC redirector and the incorrect frame type is set for the NWLink Transport.

RESOLUTION

To avoid this problem:

  1. From the Control Panel window, choose the Network icon.

  2. In the Network Settings dialog box, under Installed Network Software, select NWLink Transport, and then choose the Configure button.

  3. Change the frame type to the correct frame type.

  4. Restart your computer.
