Q+E Truncates Decimal Numbers Imported from Excel

Last reviewed: November 2, 1994
Article ID: Q74237

SUMMARY

Q+E uses the Decimal Digits setting in Control Panel to determine how many digits after the decimal point to recognize.

You may need to change this setting to prevent your data from being truncated when you open an Excel file in Q+E.

MORE INFORMATION

Note: This article only applies to the ExcelFile driver. The Decimal Digits setting will not affect the way that Q+E reads SQL Server tables, dBASE compatible files, or text files.

To change the number of decimal places recognized by Windows applications:

  1. Select International Settings from the Control Panel.

  2. Select Number Format (ALT+N).

  3. Select Decimal Digits (ALT+E).

  4. Enter the desired number of places after the decimal point.

  5. Exit Control Panel and restart Windows.
