NetLogon: Primary Group Not Replicated Properly

SYMPTOMS

Windows NT NetLogon does not replicate the primary group correctly. The primary group is always called Domain Users. Also, if you are not a member of the primary group, replication fails with error C0000068. The replication is attempted and failed every five minutes until you shut down your computer.

RESOLUTION

Reinstall Windows NT Advanced Server on the server that failed or remove the user that is not a member of the primary group.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1. This problem was corrected in the latest U.S. Service Pack for Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1.
