The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Windows NT operating system version 3.1
  • Microsoft Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1

Although the NeXT [TM] 400 dpi Laser Printer v2000.6 is on the Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) for Windows NT, it does not work under Windows NT currently.

This printer was not specifically tested for the HCL. Later updates of the HCL will not include the NeXT 400 Laser Printer.

The NeXT Laser Printer is not a Postscript printer; it is Raster (graphics) based. The NeXT system converts Postscript to Raster and then sends the graphics to the printer. The printer must be used on the NeXT system to provide the necessary conversion and output.
