Q+E: OPEN Does Not Use use_colhdr for the Source ExcelFile

Last reviewed: November 2, 1994
Article ID: Q75615

SUMMARY

The OPEN statement in Q+E does not use the use_colhdr parameter when opening an Excel file.

MORE INFORMATION

Page 101 of the "Q+E for Microsoft Excel User's Guide" shows the third parameter of the OPEN statement as use_colhdr when the source is ExcelFile.

Example of Incorrect OPEN Statement

The third parameter below is actually interpreted as the number of lines to scan (or scan_lines):

   =OPEN(spec_text,source,use_colhdr,scan_lines,guess_type,set_default)

Omitting the use_colhdr parameter will allow this function to work correctly.

Example of Correct OPEN Statement

   =OPEN(spec_text,source,scan_lines,guess_type,set_default)
