PostScript Printer Jobs Indicate Incorrect DSC Version

Last reviewed: May 7, 1997
Article ID: Q101499
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Windows NT operating system version 3.1
  • Microsoft Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1

A PostScript print job generated by the Windows NT version 3.1 PostScript printer driver includes a comment that indicates that the job conforms to the Adobe Document Structuring Conventions (DSC) version 2.0, as follows:

   %!PS-Adobe-2.0

This comment is incorrect; this driver generates print jobs that conform to DSC version 3.0.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 3.1 and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
