Saving a Previous Database Definition When Using QE.XLA

SUMMARY

With the add-in QE.XLA loaded, each time you choose Set Database from the Data menu and select the option Current Selection, the name DATABASE is defined as the current selection on the worksheet.

This may be inconvenient if you frequently switch between an internal database, located on your worksheet, and external databases.

To save the previous Database definition:

From the Formula menu, choose Goto.
Select Database. This highlights the area currently defined as Database.
Choose Current Selection from the Set Database option.

When run from the worksheet where an internal database is defined, the following macro will reset the database definition to the previous definition.

   A1: =SELECT(!Database)
   A2: =DB.SET.DATABASE(TRUE)
   A3: =RETURN()
