SUMMARY

Q+E for Microsoft Excel for Windows uses the System 8 font by default. In version 2.5 and later, you can specify a different default font by choosing Font from the Layout menu.

The information below explains how to set the default font in both the Windows and OS/2 environments.

MORE INFORMATION

Q+E Versions 2.5 and 3.0 for Windows or Q+E Version 3.0 for OS/2

To specify the default font:

  1. From the Layout menu, choose Font.

  2. Select the desired font.

  3. Check the Set Default check box.

  4. Choose OK.

In Q+E for Windows versions 2.5 and 3.0, this setting will be stored in your WIN.INI file so that the next time you run Q+E, this font will be the default. Q+E for OS/2 will store this setting in your QE.INI file.

Q+E Versions 2.1 and 2.1c for Windows

To specify a default font, enter the following statement in the [Q+E] section of the WIN.INI file

   font=font_name,point_size

where "font_name" is the name of a font listed when you choose the Font option from the Layout menu in Q+E. Similarly, "point_size" is a number chosen from a list in the same dialog as the fonts. For example:

   font=Courier,10

Q+E versions 2.1 and 2.1c support only nonproportional fonts such as System and Courier. If a proportional font is listed in this section, Q+E defaults to the System font.
