The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Windows NT operating system version 3.1
  • Microsoft Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1

Under Windows NT, the Toshiba TXM-3201, TXM-3301, and the TXM-3401 CD-ROM drives should work and are listed on the Hardware Compatibility List (HCL). However, Windows NT may not recognize the CD-ROM if it was originally installed on a machine that requires the modification of the Toshiba CD-ROM firmware.

Some machines manufactured by Sun and Intergraph may use modified Toshiba CD-ROM drives which will not work with Windows NT. In order for Windows NT to recognize the CD-ROM, the drive has to be modified again by Toshiba.

For additional information, please call Toshiba technical support at (714) 455-0407.

The CD-ROM drives included here are manufactured by Toshiba, a vendor independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this products' performance or reliability.
