Using System Date as Default in an INPUT Function in Excel

SUMMARY

The following is an example of an INPUT function that uses the computer's system date as the default value. You can type over the default or choose OK to accept the system date. 

   =INPUT("Prompt text",2,"Title text",TEXT(NOW(),"mm/dd/yy"))
The TEXT function specifies the desired formatting of the serial number. The data type may be either 1 (number) or 2 (text).
