WHATIF.XLA Dialog Box Is Replicated When Moved

SUMMARY

The What If Variable dialog box, which is displayed when you do a what-if analysis, is copied each time you move it.

Steps to Reproduce Problem

  1. Open WHATIF.XLA from the LIBRARY subdirectory of your Microsoft Excel directory.

  2. Choose Whatif from the Formula menu.

  3. Choose New from the What If dialog box.

  4. When the What If Variable dialog box appears, move it with the mouse by pointing to the menu bar of the dialog and dragging it to another part of the screen.

  5. Each time you move the box, another copy is drawn on the screen.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem with the WHATIF.XLA supplied with Excel version 3.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here as it becomes available.
