DLGICONS is a code sample in the Microsoft Software Library that demonstrates how to dynamically change an icon in a modal dialog box.

Download DLGICONS.EXE, a self-extracting file, from the Microsoft Software Library (MSL) on the following services:

  • Microsoft Download Service (MSDL)

Dial (206) 936-6735 to connect to MSDL
          Download DLGICONS.EXE (size: 21276 bytes)

  • Internet (anonymous FTP)

          ftp ftp.microsoft.com
          Change to the \SOFTLIB\MSLFILES directory
          Get DLGICONS.EXE (size: 21276 bytes)

The modal dialog box displays an icon by creating a static child window with the SS_ICON style. The lpWindowName parameter to the CreateWindow() function specifies the icon to be displayed. To change the icon, the dialog destroys the child and creates a new child in the same location.
