The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows Software Development Kit (SDK) for Windows versions 3.0 and 3.1

The Microsoft Software Library contains a file named MOVECC, which demonstrates how to simulate the Drag and Drop interface for custom controls. By using the MoveWindow() function, this sample allows you to click on a control and drag it to a new location.

MOVECC also demonstrates how to manipulate child window Z-order to prevent windows from going behind other child windows, and to avoid children painting on other children.

Download MOVECC.EXE, a self-extracting file, from the Microsoft Software Library (MSL) on the following services:

  • Microsoft Download Service (MSDL)

Dial (206) 936-6735 to connect to MSDL
          Download MOVECC.EXE (size: 21912 bytes)

  • Internet (anonymous FTP)

          ftp ftp.microsoft.com
          Change to the \SOFTLIB\MSLFILES directory
          Get MOVECC.EXE (size: 21912 bytes)
