Clicking on the Ruler or Toolbar Crashes Word 6.0 for the Mac

SYMPTOMS

If you click on the ruler or manipulate the toolbars in Word 6.0 for the Macintosh, your machine may hang (stop responding).

CAUSE

This problem occurs when you are using a Mobius NuBus video card (black and white). The problem is caused by an incompatibility between Word and the video card.

RESOLUTION

Upgrade to Word 6.0.1. To obtain Word 6.0.1, call the Microsoft Order Desk at (800) 360-7561. If you are outside the United States, contact your local subsidiary. To locate your subsidiary, see the Microsoft World Wide Offices Web site at:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word version 6.0 for the Macintosh. This problem was corrected in Word version 6.0.1 for the Macintosh.
