Computer Hangs Switching to Full Screen View in Print Preview

The information in this article applies to:

• Microsoft Word for Windows, versions 6.0, 6.0a, 6.0c
• Microsoft Windows NT operating system version 3.1

SYMPTOMS

When you view a document in print preview, the Print Preview toolbar may display incompletely or not at all after you choose the Full Screen button on the Print Preview toolbar. After you switch to full screen view, your computer may hang (stop responding).

CAUSE

Microsoft has reproduced this problem using:

   ATI Graphics Driver, dated April 1992, for Windows NT
   Diamond Viper Driver (v. 1.0), VPR200.DRV for Windows NT

STATUS

This problem was corrected in Word version 7.0 for Windows 95.

WORKAROUND

The problem does not occur if you use the ATI Mach8 Version 2 video driver or the default 800 x 600 video driver supplied with Windows NT version 3.1.
