SYMPTOMS

When you open a document that was originally protected for revisions, it is opened such that it is protected for forms instead. This problem causes your document to be "locked" so that you cannot make changes to it.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if you have installed a beta version of Internet Assistant, version 2.0, dated January 25, 1996, or earlier.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Internet Assistant for Word, version 2.0z, dated January 25, 1996 or earlier. This problem has been corrected in the version of Microsoft Internet Assistant dated January 31, 1996.

RESOLUTION
