SUMMARY

In Microsoft Word for the Macintosh version 5.0, Drag-and-Drop Text Editing is generally used to move selected text to a new area of a document. However, Drag-and-Drop Text Editing can also be used to copy the selected text to a new point on the document. To perform this function, do the following:

  1. Select the text or graphic.

  2. Point to the selection.

  3. While holding down the Command key, press the mouse button. Word displays a small, dotted box and a dotted insertion point. Drag the dotted insertion point to the new location, then release the mouse button. Word then pastes the copied selection in the new location.
