SUMMARY

To use Microsoft Visual C++ to debug a WLL file, do the following:

1. Place the WLL file in the Word STARTUP subdirectory.

2. In Visual C++, choose Debug from the Option menu.

3. Set the following options

      Program Argument : c:\winword\winword.exe
      Additional Dll's : c:\winword\startup\<wllname>.wll

where <wllname> is the name of your WLL.

4. From the Debug menu, choose Go. Answer Yes to the prompt: "The file
Winword.exe does not contain debugging information."

Make sure that you exit Word using the Exit command from within Word's File menu, and not by choosing Stop in the VC++ debugger. If you choose Stop in the VC++ debugger, Word will close down improperly, and may result in low memory conditions.
