Internet Assistant: How to View Raw HTML Markup

This article describes several ways to view your HTML source.

Method 1: Use this method to view the entire document: 

          a. Save and close the HTML document.

          b. From the File menu, choose Open.

          c. Select the Confirm Conversions check box.

          d. Select your document and choose OK.

          e. In the Confirm Conversions dialog box, select Text Only and
             choose OK.
Method 2: Use an Internet browser, such as Mosaic or NetScape, to view the 
          source. You can leave the document open in the browser while you
          edit your document in Word. To view the changes to the source,
          you will need to reload the file to update the display.
Method 3: Use this method when you want to view the source for a single 
          item. Note: This method will not work for some items; it will
          work for items such as anchors (<A>) and images (<IMG>).

          a. In HTML Edit view, select the text for which you want to
             view the HTML source.

          b. From the Insert menu, choose HTML Markup.

          c. After viewing the source, choose OK.
ethod 4: Open the file in Notepad or Write. In Notepad, you can keep any 
          changes you've made by choosing Save from the File menu. If you
          want to save changes made while viewing the file in Write, save
          the file by choosing Save As from the File menu. In the Save File
          As Type box, select Text Files. This will save the file in the
          proper format.
