SUMMARY

In Microsoft Word for Windows, if you format text with both small capital letters (small caps) and capitalized italic letters, large gaps between the capitalized italics and small capitals appear. This problem is caused by the overhang of the italic character. The text still prints correctly.

The font kerning feature of Word version 6.0 does not affect this problem.
