  • Microsoft Word for the Macintosh versions 4.0, 5.0 and 5.1

SUMMARY

The Open Mail and Send Mail commands in version 4.0 of Microsoft Word for the Macintosh (Full Menus only) apply only to Microsoft Mail versions 1.36, 1.37, 2.0, 3.0, and 3.1.

In Word versions 5.0 and 5.1, Full/Short Menus is not an option. If Microsoft Mail is installed, the Open Mail and Send Mail commands will appear on the File menu.

The Open Mail command lets you see Word documents that you receive as mail messages (Word messages), and opens them as untitled documents. You can use the Send Mail command to send the Word document in the active window in a Microsoft Mail message; the file is attached to a standard message.
