SUMMARY

Occasionally, a file saved on disk may become corrupted in some way. Minor file corruptions, such as slow scrolling, can often be remedied by doing the following:

  1. Saving the file in RTF

  2. Closing the file

  3. Reopening the file

  4. Allowing Word to interpret RTF

Other causes of slow scrolling speed are graphics (without the Use Picture Placeholders option turned on), tables, double spacing, and being in Page View.
