SUMMARY

In a Microsoft Word document with more than one PostScript routine, a subsequent set of PostScript commands may not print correctly if a previous set of commands redefines the coordinate system. This problem can occur when an initial set of PostScript commands uses the "translate" or the "rotate" command. To correct this problem, use one of the following methods:

Method 1

Insert a blank line between the two sets of PostScript commands and format it in the Normal style. This resets the coordinate system to the default setting.

Method 2

Insert "gsave" before and "grestore" after each set of PostScript commands. Format gsave and grestore with the PostScript style. This restores the original coordinate system after the PostScript commands are completed.

MORE INFORMATION

For example, this problem will occur if the PostScript commands to print the page number sideways occur before the commands to print the word "Draft" across the center of the page in large gray letters. The page number prints correctly, but the coordinates for the word "Draft" are about 4 inches to the right of the left edge of the paper and don't print.
