WD: Incomplete Legal Page Printout from MacWord with LaserWriter

SYMPTOMS

Sometimes when you print a page formatted for legal paper size to an Apple LaserWriter or compatible printer from Word for the Macintosh, only the letter-sized portion of the page prints. No error message appears, but the remainder of the print job does not print. This problem can occur if your printer contains 1MB or less of memory.

WORKAROUND

In the Page Setup dialog box, change the Paper Source to Manual Feed. If the problem persists, use the following steps to increase the amount of memory available in your printer and to decrease the amount of memory required to print your Word document:

• Clear all options in the Page Setup dialog box such as Larger Print Area.
• Remove all fractional width formatting.
• Remove all TrueType font character formatting.
• Turn off background printing.
• Turn the printer off and on to clear its memory.
