WD: MacWord Paragraph Borders Don't Work Correctly with Drop Cap

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, versions 5.1, 6.0

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Word, if you apply border formatting to a group of paragraphs, Word applies an individual paragraph border around any paragraph that contains Drop Cap-formatted characters.

The above situation only occurs if you format the the group of paragraphs with multiple border options instead of a single border format. For example, if you apply a box border format and select multiple line styles or apply border formatting only to the top and bottom of the first and last paragraph, Word applies individual border formatting to the paragraph that contains a Drop Cap.
