The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, version 6.0, 6.0.1
  • Microsoft Word 98 Macintosh Edition

SYMPTOMS

When you print multiple documents from the Macintosh desktop, each document is opened and the Print dialog box appears for each document you are printing.

CAUSE

By design, some printing settings do not remain constant from one document to another. Therefore, when printing multiple documents from the desktop, you will be prompted to click OK or Cancel for each print job.

WORKAROUND

Use the Find File command to select and print multiple files. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Perform a search for your files.

  2. From the Search Results Listed Files, select the files you want to print by holding down the Command key and clicking each file.

  3. On the Commands list, click Print.

  4. Click Print to print the documents.

The drawback to this method is that the print settings are set for each document.
