SUMMARY

This article descibes how to move the insertion point in page layout view (page view in Word 1.x), from one column to the next in a multiple-column Microsoft Word document with the keyboard.

To move the insertion point from one column to another, press ALT+DOWN ARROW or ALT+UP ARROW (Windows) or OPTION+DOWN ARROW or OPTION+UP ARROW (Macintosh).

ALT+DOWN ARROW (Windows) and OPTION+DOWN ARROW (Macintosh) move the insertion point to the next page element, while ALT+UP ARROW (Windows) and OPTION+UP ARROW (Macintosh) move the insertion point to the previous page element.
