FileNameInfo$()

FileNameInfo$(Filename$, InfoType)

Example:

The following sample macro uses the FileNameInfo$ WordBasic function to search the current directory for Word document files, and inserts the file names into a new document.

   Sub MAIN
      FileNewDefault
      FileFind .Name - "*.doc"
      For I - 1 To CountFoundFiles()
         Insert FileNameInfo$(FoundFileName$(i), 1)
         InsertPara
      Next
   End Sub

NOTE: Word 6.0 for the Macintosh users, the third line of the above macro

     FileFind .Name - "*.doc"

needs to be changed to the following:

     FileFind .Name - MacID$("W6BN")
