WD6: Characters Don't Show Keystroke in Insert/Symbol

SYMPTOMS

The shortcut keys for some characters are not shown in the Insert Symbol dialog box.

For example, no shortcut keys are shown for characters whose shortcuts are obvious--such as A-Z, punctuation, and numbers. Also, shortcut keys are not shown for some accented characters (for example, characters that contain an umlaut, acute accent, grave accent, circumflex, or tilde).

RESOLUTION

Use Apple's Key Caps feature (under the Apple menu) to display the keystrokes for all characters.
