WD6X: MacWord Setup: Double-Clicking Doesn't Mount Network Drive

SYMPTOMS

When you run Setup to perform an Administrative Installation of Word for the Macintosh and double-click a network volume to select it, nothing happens, even if you previously mounted the network volume. Setup only selects the network volume icon but does not open it.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when you double-click a slow-mount volume.

WORKAROUND

Triple-click the network volume instead of double-clicking it.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word version 6.0 for the Macintosh. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
