WD97: Cancel RegOptions Macro Doesn't Cancel Registry Changes

SYMPTOMS

After you make changes in the RegOptions macro, changes are written to the Windows Registry (even if you click Cancel).

WORKAROUND

Run the RegOptions macro and clear the changes that were made.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

The RegOptions macro included with Word provides a convenient interface for viewing Word-related settings in the Windows Registry. Besides allowing you to view the settings, the macro can modify the settings.
