CAUSE ===== This functionality is by design. When you insert, paste, or type over a selected hyperlink, Word preserves the hyperlink. WORKAROUND ========== Removing the Hyperlink ---------------------- To manually remove the hyperlink, follow these steps: 1. Right-click the item containing the hyperlink, point to Hyperlink on the shortcut menu, and then click Select Hyperlink. NOTE: If Hyperlink is not on the shortcut menu, press F9 to display the hyperlink field code, and right-click the item again. 2. Press CTRL+SHIFT+F9 to remove the hyperlink. Showing the Hyperlink Underline ------------------------------- To retain the hyperlink and show it as a hyperlink: 1. Right-click the item containing the hyperlink, point to Hyperlink on the shortcut menu, and then click Select Hyperlink. 2. On the Format menu, click Style. 3. Under List, click to select "All Styles." 4. In the Styles list, click to select the Hyperlink style, and then click Apply.
