WD98: Can't Open HTML Document with Nested Tables

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to open an HTML document that contains nested tables in Microsoft Word 98 Macintosh Edition, you get the following message and the document does not open.

   The document contains nested tables that are too complex to represent.

CAUSE

Microsoft Word 98 Macintosh Edition does not support nested tables.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, open the document in another HTML editor.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
