WD98: Custom Style Based on List Number Style Drops Numbering

SYMPTOMS

The numbering property of a custom style based on the List Number style is lost when it is copied from one document to another.

WORKAROUND

Modify the custom style in the new document to include numbering.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

MORE INFORMATION

This problem occurs when you use Copy and Paste or when you use the Organizer to copy the custom style to the new document.
